Houston SEWPP Technical Advisor

Improving plant resiliency and redundancy

Garver was hired by the City of Houston for a multiyear contract to serve as the technical advisor at its Southeast Water Purification Plant (SEWPP), which includes process/operations support, risk-based asset management, and pre-engineering on capital projects at the facility. The SEWPP is rated for 200 MGD and provides drinking water to the City of Houston and at least 10 other nearby water providers. Initial tasks include studying ways to improve the plant’s resiliency, life-cycle analysis of a predictive maintenance system, updating the City’s AMP, and improving redundancy and standard operating protocols for power loss scenarios.
