Successful Projects
Highways are a complex puzzle of numerous intricate parts involving separate but interconnected design decisions. Garver is exceptional in combining these various factors into successful highway projects.

We work with various departments of transportation to consider and address safety, horizontal and vertical alignments, operational acceptability, environmental concerns, pavement design, drainage aspects, and maintenance of traffic.

This project proved to be a great success for all parties involved and one that will serve the citizens of Oklahoma for many years to come.

Paul Green, PE
Division 4 Engineer
Oklahoma Department of Transportation

An infamous and dangerous S-curve along Interstate 59 in Laurel, Miss. is now only a memory, replaced by a roadway successor destined to improve traffic flow and reduce accidents. Newly constructed with an elevated bridge, the realigned interstate replaces the non-standard S-curve near downtown Laurel....

With the City of Conway's recent rapid population growth, traffic congestion has become a problem within the city limits. In the $30 million first phase of this multi-phased project, Garver designed the southern interchange with I-40 and a connection to Sturgis Road. The one-of-a-kind project includes...

Many changes took place to old U.S. Highway 65 over a 16-year-long improvement project. Garver, LLC remained a stable force while assisting the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department complete improvements on the high-priority corridor. Contracted initially in 1993, Garver designed 18...

Last year the U.S. Census Bureau named the Northwest Arkansas metropolitan area the nation's 38th fastest-growing area. Such growth has affected local infrastructure and its ability to support the growth. "Motorists suffered long waits at intersections in Springdale—during peak hours traffic...

A route around El Dorado, Ark. has improved traffic movement by adding lanes and reconstructing two interchanges and an at-grade intersection. U.S. Highway 167 and State Highway 7 travel around El Dorado's east side, and the city needed a facility with more than two lanes to serve its 18,500 residents...

Garver provided design services for 22 miles of Interstate 540's four-lane highway constructed through the rugged Boston Mountains. Because of the terrain, the project included deep cuts, high fills, and Arkansas' first highway tunnel. The design included protection of environmentally sensitive areas,...

"This is arguably the most complex stimulus project in the whole country."   Rep. James Oberstar, U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman, made this comment during a January tour of the Interstate 244 Inner Dispersal Loop (IDL) project in Tulsa, Okla. He left impressed...

Hills along U.S. Highway 281 in Major County, Okla. added a level of complexity to an Oklahoma Department of Transportation project that replaced an aging bridge. The project runs through an area known to locals as Griever Canyon. Constructed in the 1930s, the three-span, 100-foot-long bridge across...
