Del City WWTP Upgrades

Creative Cost-Savings

Garver assisted with design improvements to address deficiencies such as failing equipment, challenges with meeting discharge requirements, and aging infrastructure at the City of Del City’s wastewater treatment plant. As a result, existing SBRs were rehabbed and a new headworks facility was built, along with concepts to utilize existing infrastructure, facilitate improved reliability, and meet future and current discharge requirements. A new non-contact UV system was designed to replace chlorine gas and reduce maintenance requirements. Garver prioritized critical elements to address immediate concerns and keep processes online through construction. Additionally, Garver developed comprehensive operational and mechanical manual and training materials to enhance the plant staff’s understanding of operations. Garver’s efforts throughout constructed secured a $1.2M credit back to the Owner.
