RWU Pollution Control Facility Solids Handling Improvements

Improving for Reliability and Safety

In response to issues with processing and disposal of sludge generated at the Rogers Pollution Control Facility (PCF), the Rogers Waterworks and Sewer Commission selected Garver to plan and design Phase 1 Improvements at the PCF Solids Handling Facility (SHF). Phase 1 Improvements include a redundant dewatering centrifuge, ability to produce both Class A or B Biosolids, tubular drag conveyor, storage silo with automated truck loading and a new operations laboratory/control room. These improvements are being constructed using construction management at risk (CMAR) delivery method for a total construction cost of $7.3 million. Future improvements include a second sludge dryer, pelletizer to improve marketability and a second storage silo to provide additional capacity and redundancy.
