Interstate 244

Tulsa, Oklahoma

I-244 Multimodal Bridge

The I-244 bridge crosses the Arkansas River just south of the heart of downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. When that bridge deteriorated and was in need of replacement, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation chose Garver to provide design services for a replacement that opens up access to the city’s most frequented areas. Garver delivered roadway, bridge, rail, traffic, and lighting design for a two-level replacement. Highway traffic travels on the upper level, while the lower level features high-speed rail and light rail transit along with pedestrian and bike lanes. The project was also completed on an accelerated nine-month schedule.
