Peyton completes Loretta Scott Accreditation/Certification Academy
Garver Aviation Planning Team Leader, Suzanne Peyton, P.E., C.M., recently joined airport executives, aviation professionals, and consultants from around the country in completing the Loretta Scott Accreditation/Certification Academy in Alexandria, Virginia.
The Loretta Scott Accreditation/Certification Academy was established by the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) to prepare individuals to pass the AAAE Certified Membership (C.M.) examination. The AAAE C.M. certification program tests an individual’s knowledge in numerous facets of airport management, including capital development, environmental processes, finance, government relations, marketing, and operations.
Peyton learned alongside leaders in the airport management and planning industry and passed the C.M. examination on July 27.
“Earning this certification will allow me to better understand a planning project from an airport manager’s perspective,” Peyton said. “Knowing their needs and desires during a project will greatly improve communication, make project life cycles run more smoothly and, in the end, lead to more efficiently completed planning projects.”
As the world’s largest professional organization dedicated to the advancement of airport executives, the AAAE provides development opportunities for managers of commercial and general aviation airports through training, conferences, and an accreditation program.
Peyton, who has successfully led planning projects at airports across the country, is currently managing the landside planning efforts and developing an airport layout plan for the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Master Plan and is currently working on master plans for airports in Killeen and Abilene, Texas.
