Challenges and Solutions of OpenRoads: MDOT US 98 OpenRoads Pilot Project

OpenRoads Designer, the next best thing? OpenRoads Designer is a comprehensive and fully functioned detailed design application for surveying, drainage, subsurface utilities, and roadway design that supersedes all capabilities previously delivered through InRoads, GEOPAK, MX, and PowerCivil. Wayne Black and Scott McKinnie will detail their experiences with Mississippi DOT’s (MDOT) Pilot Project for OpenRoads Designer (ORD). Through the presentation, they will discuss the challenges faced working with MDOT on their first Consultant designed ORD project, issues found with the workspace, and share some lessons learned from the experience. They will also discuss the pros and cons discovered in 3D modeling with OpenRoads versus Power GeoPak.
