Federal Funding Update: BUILD America 250 and What Comes Next

The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee voted with a bi-partisan majority to move a transportation reauthorization bill, H.R. 8870, the BUILD America 250 Act, to the full House for a vote.

The legislation authorizes $580 billion over 5 years. It contains provisions that will improve project delivery and provide flexibility for state DOTs. However, the authorized funding level will require Congress to find additional money to support the program. In addition, the Senate has yet to introduce its version of reauthorization.
