Garver’s growing Lexington, Kentucky Aviation team is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer that will be responsible for performing a wide array of aviation-related design, planning, grant administration, and client management services for General Aviation and Commercial Air Service Airports.
Duties and responsibilities of this role will include:
- Project support for runway and taxiway construction, airfield lighting and signage installation, access road construction, drainage improvement and pavement rehabilitation projects
- Significant design and construction oversight for multiple general aviation clients
- Collaborating and/or coordinating design teams consisting of multi-discipline design engineers and technicians
- Coordination with clients and funding agencies
- Provide outstanding service
The Civil Engineer will primarily be responsible for designing airport projects, including improvements to runways, taxiways, aprons, airfield grading, drainage, hangars, fuel farms, parking areas, terminal buildings, and other airport construction related projects.
The Civil Engineer must be able to work as a member of a multi-disciplined team, work with diverse clients, and produce complete design phase deliverables, including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, exhibits, technical reports, and narratives. Tasks associated with creating a set of construction documents include drafting, quantity computations, specifications, and cost estimates. Design development software packages will be used, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other civil design packages.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 2+ years of related experience
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D
- Passed the FE exam
- Strong written and oral communication skills with both internal employees and external clients
- Some travel may be required (approximately 10% with occasional overnight)

- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Aviation related experience
- Licensed pilot or other aviation-related experience
