Garver has an opening based out of our Oklahoma City, OK office for a Construction Inspector. The Construction Inspector assists and acts as a liaison between, contractors, engineers, and clients and will include the inspection and observation of water/wastewater, aviation, roadway, and bridge projects.
This position will work under the supervision of the Resident Engineer, Project Engineer, or Project Manager assigned to a specific project. This position will assist as needed with inspections and documentation to ensure that the project is built in accordance with project plans and specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret and understand project plans and specifications while verifying compliance
- Travel is required and expected, applicants must be willing to accept long-term and short-term out of town projects.
- Reading and interpreting data, information, and documents
- Analyzing and solving problems
- Performing highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks
- Work under intense deadlines
- Interact with staff, contractors, and the public
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong ability to prioritize and organize
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word
- Working knowledge of ODOT and OTA specifications
Preferred:
- Familiar with grading, drainage, concrete/asphalt paving, roadway bridge construction,
- OHCMT Materials Sampling and Testing certification
- SiteManager application experience
- Pipeline inspection experience
- Survey or materials testing experience
