Garver has an opening for a Construction Inspector with our Oklahoma Field Services Team. The Construction Inspector’s duties will include the inspection, observation, and managerial assistance of large-scale Water & Wastewater projects construction projects.
This position will work under the supervision of the Project Engineer or Manager assigned to a specific project. This position will assist Project Engineers and Managers as needed with inspections and documentation to ensure that the project is built in accordance with project plans and specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Understand project specifications and verify compliance
- Overnight Travel as needed
- Interacting with clients, contractors, the public, and Garver staff in the course of work
- Reading and interpreting data, information, construction plans, project specifications, testing reports, schedules, and other documents
- Assuring the quality of contractor’s work meets the contract requirements and reviewing any discrepancies with the client’s Representative and/or Garver PM
- Analyzing and solving problems
- Performing highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks
- Prepare daily reports of all construction activities, weather, personnel, and equipment onsite
Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience with construction inspection on civil projects
- Strong ability to prioritize and organize
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word
- Overnight travel required.
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in observing water and sewer construction projects
- Survey or materials testing experience
- Construction Management experience
- Certified Oklahoma Materials Testing and Sampling Technician
