Our experienced, fast-paced Austin Bridge Team is seeking a civil engineering student for a Summer 2025 internship. This intern will be mentored by our dynamic team and exposed to many aspects of bridge design, bridge rehabilitation and replacement, and inspection for a variety of projects.
Internship Description:
- Further develop skills learned in the classroom by participating in the design of steel and reinforced concrete structures
- Become familiar with AASHTO LRFD and other standards used in bridge design
- Be an active member in developing plans for all components of bridges (layouts, substructures, superstructures), typically in Bentley’s MicroStation
- Visit the site of a bridge being actively constructed to strengthen understanding of what is detailed in plans
- Successful candidate will be able to read and interpret design codes, communicate effectively, and be willing to learn

Requirements:
- Must be pursuing a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program
- Strong interest in structural design
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong team player with commitment to becoming a key member of this highly productive design team
Preferred skills:
- Previous internship experience
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation
- Previous structural undergrad course related work
