Garver is seeking a motivated environmental sciences student to join our Transportation Team in Frisco, TX. This intern will gain real-world experience in the documentation of environmental resources, training by our experienced environmental staff and project managers, and an understanding of how to apply their academic training in the consulting industry.
Internship Description:
- Actively participate in environmental compliance and planning projects by working alongside our dynamic consulting team both in the field and at the office.
- Become familiar with local, state, and federal regulations relevant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
- Explore your interdisciplinary interests of ecology, hydrology, cultural resources, hazardous materials, and environmental justice while you gain exposure to many types of infrastructure projects across transportation, aviation, and water business lines.
- Learn and utilize industry-related software such as ESRI ArcGIS products.
- The successful candidate will be a motivated critical thinker with the adaptability to learn and engage with a variety of environmental projects.

Requirements:
- Candidates must be pursuing an environmental science, ecology, biology, or related degree
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to work in different environments, both indoors and outdoors, as necessary.
- Proven time management skills and work ethic.
- Proven professional communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- A strong desire to assist with a wide array of infrastructure improvement projects.
Preferred skills:
- Previous internship or co-op experience in the environmental field.
- Previous experience using GPS and/or GIS software.
- Previous experience in environmental fieldwork.
