Garver's Arizona Water Team, is seeking a Constructability Manager with experience in the heavy civil, water, and wastewater construction industry. This individual will help to develop, grow, and manage construction clients in this region and build a construction engineering and inspection team. In addition, this Construction Manager will assist with the overall staff management and provide direction on all Garver projects within this region. We're looking for somebody that, ideally, has 5-20 years in the industry as a contractor or project engineer with field experience, or a combination of the two.
Primary responsibilities of the Constructability Manager will include but are not limited to:
- Knowing and applying fundamental concepts, best practices, construction management procedures, project management, and field inspection (CE&I).
- Knowledge of industry-related standards and practices commonly used in the construction industry. The Construction Manager is not expected to have intimate knowledge of all standards but general knowledge and the ability to research and learn as required.
- Possessing knowledge of related fields and areas of operation.
- Collaborating with design engineering staff to ensure the accuracy of project construction.
- Managing project budgets (internal and external), providing projections for project costs, predicting potential overruns, and managing inspection staff hours as required to prevent budget overruns.
- Reviewing schedules and making recommendations as necessary to the Owner on the status of the project
- Reviewing change orders, pricing, and the need for such changes and making recommendations to the Owner as to whether the change order is required and whether the pricing is in line with current price structures
- Managing submittals and RFI's utilizing online construction management software
- Managing one or more projects as required
Minimum Requirements:
- 5+ years as construction manager of public works projects that may include water and wastewater, water conveyance and sewer pipelines, pumping station projects, transportation roadways and highways, transit light rail, and aviation projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Arizona Driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred Skills:
- PMP or other certification preferred but not required (PE, CCM, DBIA, PgMP, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in civil or construction engineering/management
- Projectmates, ProCore, Primavera Contract Manager previous history
- OSHA 10 and 30 certifications
