We’ve got an opportunity for you here in our College Station Water Design Center (WDC).
As part of Garver’s growing College Station WDC team, you’ll lead a team responsible for producing designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, and other ancillary infrastructure associated with water and wastewater projects company wide. You’ll be engaged in design calculations, hydraulic modeling, facility layouts, equipment selections, managing and coordinating support discipline activities, coordinating with equipment vendors and regulatory agencies, and performing quality reviews. You’ll travel occasionally for business development purposes and when a project requires a site assessment as well as support during construction.
What you’ll do:
- Design water and wastewater treatment processes
- Evaluate, select, and implement water and wastewater equipment
- Lead the design pump stations, lift stations, and pump selection
- Lead hydraulic analyses of water and wastewater treatment plants
- Lead conceptual level designs for water and wastewater treatment systems
- Lead detailed designs, including contract documents (plans and specifications)
- Oversee the development of construction drawings and 3D models
- Support construction projects
- Coordinate with other support discipline activities, regional Garver offices, and regulatory and funding agencies
- Support regional teams with treatment related business development activities
- Develop scope, schedule, level of effort, and fees for projects
- Plan and monitor budgets
- Ensure quality program compliance and delivery of work products that adhere to Garver standardization
- Manage and mentor teams
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, biosystems/agricultural, or related engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program
- Professional Engineer Licensure (PE)
- 10 or more years of direct design experience with municipal water and wastewater facilities
- Two or more years of experience leading project teams
- Experience overseeing facility designs, including detailed plans and specifications for major projects
- Understanding of water and wastewater treatment plant systems in a facility-wide environment
- Experience performing process equipment evaluation, sizing, and cost estimatine
- Experience with hydraulic modeling software
Bonus points if you bring these, too:
- Master’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, biosystems/agricultural, or related engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program
- Certification as a Pump Systems Assessment Professional
- Professional Engineer Licensure (PE) in several states, including TX, OK, NM, AZ, CO
- 15 years or more of experience with municipal water and wastewater related design
- Five or more years of experience leading project teams
- Relationships with municipal clients in Garver’s footprint
- A record of active participation in professional organizations such as AWWA, WEF, WRF
