Sarah Briscoe joins Garver's Buildings Team as Houston Structural Practice Leader
Briscoe brings twenty years of structural engineering experience and expertise to Garver's Buildings Team
With twenty years of structural engineering and design experience and in-depth knowledge of the Houston area, Sarah Briscoe, PE, is an ideal fit as Garver’s new Houston Structural Practice Leader.
“Sarah is exactly the person we’ve been looking for,” said Director of Buildings Services John Watkins. “Her structural engineering expertise, her understanding of and familiarity with the architect community, along with support from the full gamut of Garver’s building engineering design resources will bring a new level of service to architectural clients in the Houston area.”
A talented and versatile structural engineer and leader, Briscoe has worked on projects in and around Houston and across the country, leading structural design and documents preparation for buildings in different sectors, including industrial, educational, municipal, and healthcare. She understands and has experience with various structural systems, including reinforced concrete, structural steel, and wood framing.
Her many projects include a 40,000 square feet, $16 million Instructional Arts Facility at Lone Star College in Houston; a 30,000 square feet, two-story City Hall building for the City of Mont Belvieu, Texas; and the renovation of a 20,000 square feet community living center, alongside an 18,000 square feet building addition, for the Robert J. Dole Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.
In Garver, Briscoe saw an opportunity to grow her career and deliver for the architecture community in Houston. “I’m a team player,” she said, “and that means being on my client’s team and giving it my A-Team effort, which means always being responsive and helping to ensure the project’s success as much as possible.”
“The ability to bring the client’s vision to reality, to project manage, to see projects through from beginning to end, to work with different structural systems, and to deliver high quality projects are all evident in Sarah’s resume,” said Garver Buildings Engineering Practice Leader Brad Bradshaw. “She’s an incredibly valuable member of the Garver Buildings Team and will do great things for clients in the Houston area.”
