Three honored with prestigious Spirit of Garver Award
The Spirit of Garver Award, presented annually, recognizes employees who exemplify exceptional passion for their profession and unwavering commitment to Garver’s values and standards. It is the highest individual honor a Garver employee can receive.
Garver celebrates these outstanding individuals at Summit, the company’s annual gathering of employees from across the country. At Summit 2025 in Houston, Texas, a committee of company leaders named Regional Office Support Leader David Allen, Water Project Engineer Abigail Hall, and Aviation Project Manager Greg Thomas, PE, as this year’s recipients. Each winner received a $3,500 travel voucher, company-wide recognition, and the privilege of wearing the signature Spirit of Garver Award blazer.
As Regional Office Support Leader in Garver’s North Kansas City office, David Allen plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in advancing Garver’s Strategic Plan through his work in Office Support. He ensures a welcoming, organized, and efficient workplace that allows project teams to stay focused and deliver high-quality service. His proactive approach, attention to detail, and responsiveness make him an indispensable resource for both technical and administrative staff.
Recognized as a leader among his peers, Allen helps onboard new employees, develop best practices, and support multiple offices, including Kansas City and St. Louis. Colleagues praise his positive attitude, problem-solving skills, and willingness to go above and beyond — whether coordinating office moves, resolving urgent issues, or organizing events.
Project Engineer Abigail Hall, based in Garver’s Austin office, has quickly become a rising star on Garver’s Water Team. A natural leader, she earns praise from clients and elevates team performance within the Central Texas Water Team.
Hall has taken a lead role in delivering projects related to the Lead and Copper Rule and has presented at major national and state level water conferences, establishing herself as a thought leader. Beyond technical excellence, she drives initiatives like Garver Connect and Launch, mentoring interns and future leaders. She brings unmatched energy, authenticity, and dedication to everything she does.
From his homebase of Garver’s Fayetteville Aviation Design Center, Project Manager Greg Thomas balances mentoring new engineers with managing complex projects across Garver’s footprint. A strong advocate for his team, Thomas encourages members to challenge themselves while remaining attentive and responsive to their needs. His blend of professional and personal mentorship fosters strong relationships and creates a collaborative, enjoyable work environment.
Thomas’ leadership style — marked by transparency, trust, and constructive guidance —strengthens team dynamics, enhances project outcomes, and streamlines workflows. His approachable nature and commitment to excellence make him a cornerstone of Garver’s Aviation Design Center.
The three winners were selected from 14 finalists, chosen from nominations submitted by their colleagues. Congratulations to all of Garver’s winners, finalists, and nominees.
