Williams named Distinguished Alumni by University of Arkansas
Garver President and CEO Dan Williams has been named a 2018 Distinguished Alumni by the University of Arkansas College of Engineering.
Williams, who graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, will be honored during an April 21 banquet in Fayetteville along with other alumni who have provided leadership while achieving distinction in both the engineering field and their communities.
Williams arrived at Garver one year after graduating from the University of Arkansas. First a design engineer working on airport and civil projects, he was instrumental in helping the company open a new Tulsa, Oklahoma, office in 1993. He became Garver’s chief operating officer in 2004, and in 2012 became its president and CEO. He is currently the president of the Arkansas Academy of Civil Engineering, a group of dedicated alumni who have become contributors to the College of Engineering, to which he was inducted in 2003.
“Everything I’ve done as an engineer has been because of the education I received at the University of Arkansas,” Williams said. “So to be included among so many other accomplished graduates from the University is truly an honor.”
