Garver celebrates EWeek
In addition to providing communities across the country with innovative infrastructure solutions, Garver knows the importance of inspiring the next generation of engineers. That’s why GarverGives, the firm’s corporate giving program, focuses on initiatives that promote STEM education. And what better time to do that than EWeek?
Engineers Week is a celebration of engineers and the influence they have on our world. It’s also a rallying cry to address the growing need for engineers as our country continues to face a shortage of graduates prepared to enter the industry. The future of our communities hinges on the next generation, so Garver takes seriously its role in cultivating the engineers of tomorrow.
This year, Garver is celebrating EWeek in a variety of ways, all across our footprint — whether it’s raising awareness about the need for future engineers on local TV stations or visiting elementary school classrooms to connect directly with students.
An article written by Garver’s Kansas City Aviation Team Leader Brett Holt, published this week in the Kansas City Business Journal, touched on the importance of paving the way for future generations of engineers. In it, Holt emphasizes the need to reach out to students and offer encouragement, as well as addresses the gender disparity in STEM careers. Click below to read the whole article.
Garver loves any opportunity to tout the benefits of STEM, and we’re proud to celebrate a week devoted to doing just that.
