Roberson named Spark! Star for STEM support
For many years, Garver and the Museum of Discovery (MOD) in Little Rock, Arkansas, have been dedicated partners in introducing STEM concepts to students across the region.
MOD recently recognized that mutual mission by naming Garver’s Principal Accounting Officer and Controller Beverly Roberson a 2024 Spark! Star. She will be honored with six other community leaders who actively support the advancement of STEM learning during a gala held at the museum in November.
“The Museum of Discovery has been crucial in igniting a passion for STEM education in our community,” Roberson said. “I’m proud to have contributed to this goal over the years, and I’m grateful I work for a company that sees the value of giving back.”
Roberson is devoted to empowering the next generation through both professional initiatives and community service. She’s championed multiple programs within Garver that uplift young professionals, including the firm’s internship and networking programs. She also provides financial guidance to DBE engineering firms through the Garver Partners program and is a proud member of the Arkansas chapter of Women’s Transportation Seminar and the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance.
Roberson also recognizes the importance of connecting with today’s students as they navigate their earliest education and career decisions and works to encourage an early interest in STEM through her leadership in GarverGives, the firm’s corporate giving program, and through volunteering for Girls of Promise, which connects girls in Arkansas with women in STEM fields. She was selected to be a mentor for the Venture Center VCWoman Achieve program’s 2024 cohort. Beverly also champions ARKids Read and Recycled Bikes for Kids.
