Mach selected to Oklahoma Magazine's 40 Under 40 list
Garver Oklahoma Water Team Leader Mary Elizabeth Mach has for more than a decade led complex projects to improve the infrastructure that provides the state with access to clean, safe water. Mach, based in Garver’s Norman, Oklahoma office, was recently recognized for that dedication and impact, when she was included in Oklahoma Magazine’s latest 40 Under 40 class.
Chosen because of her leadership displayed both in her work and community, Mach is joined on the list by those who work in a variety of industries to better the lives of all Oklahomans.
“Water is life,” Mach said. “It impacts everybody from the smallest child to the oldest individual, as well as community growth. Building that support and developing relationships with the communities we work for is what makes all these projects possible.”
With sustainability as a top priority, Mach leads teams of more than 20 of Garver’s leading water engineers, charged with delivering designs for improved infrastructure, water and wastewater treatment plants, distribution systems and more relating to the upkeep of the state’s water supply. One of Mach’s key contributions includes leading teams that evaluate the effectiveness of technologies in the removal of constituents such as arsenic and nitrate from groundwater that have never been tested in the state before.
Outside of her work, Mach has remained active in her community, helping develop a relationship between Garver and Food and Shelter, a local homeless shelter, and she was also integral in starting Garver Connect, the company’s employee-run initiative dedicated to supporting and strengthening Garver’s female employees.
