Olson selected for Houston Business Journal 40 Under 40

Garver Water Business Line Director of Operations Dan Olson has been named to the Houston Business Journal’s prestigious 40 Under 40, an annual list honoring 40 business leaders under the age of 40 for their leadership, career achievements, and community service.
Olson is already a leader in the water engineering industry. In his eight years at Garver, he has not only grown the firm’s water services in Texas and beyond but has also successfully championed a sustainable water solution across Texas: potable water reuse. Olson is on the executive team and board of trustees for WateReuse Texas, an industry organization advocating for water recycling and on a mission to “empower Texas communities with resources needed to embrace water recycling as the cornerstone to safe, resilient, accessible, and sustainable water management.”
For the past three years, Olson has served as Utility Management Committee Chair for the Water Environment Association of Texas (WEAT). He also previously served as a member of WEAT’s Workforce Development Committee and as a former president of the AWWA Southeast Texas chapter.
Alongside his considerable industry leadership, Olson is involved in Water For People, a global organization that helps deliver drinking water and sanitation infrastructure for developing countries. He is actively involved in his local church community, serving on the board and supporting the church’s orphanage in Kenya. He and his wife are advocates for the foster care system and for adoption, encouraging others to open up their homes to children in need.
“Dan brings a passion for serving Texas communities and an incredibly high degree of technical expertise to everything he does,” said Garver Director of Water Services Jeff Sober. “He’s making our industry and Texas communities better. This is a well-deserved honor.”
