Drew Moffitt named to Arkansas Business Journal’s 40 Under 40

Arkansas Business recently named Garver’s Geospatial Solutions Leader Drew Moffitt to its 40 Under 40 list, which recognizes young professionals across a range of fields for demonstrating excellence in both their personal and professional lives.

As Garver’s Geospatial Solutions Leader, Moffitt is changing the way Garver approaches infrastructure projects. As a GIS expert, Moffitt uses specialized maps and data to communicate complicated topics or datasets in a way that makes it easier for project stakeholders to use and apply. These technologies are helping DOTs, municipalities, and other organizations solve longstanding problems.

Over the course of nearly two decades, Moffitt has applied his expertise across a wide range of sectors, including transportation, defense, utilities, water resources, and natural resources. One of his most impactful contributions is the development of a GIS-based dam break analysis tool. This innovative tool has been used to evaluate the safety and validity of more than 8,000 dams across the U.S. and has earned a Grand Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies. Moffitt even gave a live demonstration of the tool running on dams in North Korea. 

In 2023, Moffitt was tapped to launch a dedicated GIS group within Garver. Under his leadership, the team has expanded its capabilities and reach across the firm. His leadership and vision also earned him a spot in Garver’s Innovation Incubator — a forward-thinking initiative that brings together some of the firm’s leading experts to explore emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.

Beyond his professional achievements, Moffitt is a devoted husband, father of three girls, avid cyclist, and active community member. And he’s combined his love of cycling with his commitment to community service, helping launch the Rock City Races and served on the board of a cycling nonprofit.

Moffitt’s inclusion on the 40 Under 40 list is a testament to his technical expertise and dedication to making a difference — both at Garver and in the broader community.
