During a recent design project completed by Garver‘s North Texas Team, an inverted siphon was utilized to remove an existing aerial creek crossing. Due to project constraints and the hydrological nature of the surrounding subsurface, the initial jack and bore construction method resulted in a high OPCC. This presentation discusses the alternative to minimize excavation, reduce material costs, and expedite the construction timeline by utilizing horizontal directional drilling (HDD).
