Upgrades at Huntsville International

Garver has a role in designing and managing projects that change how the private sector of the U.S. economy is able to do business on both the national and world stage. That's nowhere better illustrated than the upgrading of Huntsville International Airport, moving this facility into a category of select airports that can cater to the most demanding aircraft in the fleet—FAA Group VI, which includes the Boeing 747-8F.

"By adding the ability to serve the largest cargo aircraft in the fleet, the Port of Huntsville can fulfill its mission of providing a single hub location specializing in receiving, transferring, storing, and distributing international and domestic cargo via air, rail, and highway," said Garver Regional Aviation Director Ryan Sisemore.

From planning to design to bidding to construction administration Garver's Huntsville Aviation Team and its Huntsville-based teaming partners worked with the client every step of the way to bring a complex and expensive project to reality.

"Huntsville serves a very important role in air cargo," said Project Manager Ryan Reed. "The airport stages weekly international non-stop flights to Europe, Mexico, Hong Kong and San Paulo, Brazil. This upgrade allows Huntsville International to fulfill their mission to its fullest extent."
