Emergency Communications Upgrade

Garver provided technical experience and knowledge to upgrade a vital communication system at Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport. The system provides dedicated emergency response communications between the airfield rescue and firefighters (ARFF) building, Dispatch, and the control tower.

"The airport needed a robust, expandable and scalable solution," said Senior Project Manager Eric Farmer. "The new crash phone system provides a new, reliable and efficient communications system, thereby helping to better protect the airport, the public who use the airport, and other agency staff who work on the airfield."

Through innovative engineering analysis of existing cabling and coordinating new cabling installations in other projects on the airfield, Garver kept the project ahead of schedule and under budget. The American Council of Engineering Companies of Arkansas recognized Garver with an Engineering Excellence Award for work done on this project, which exceeded the expectations of the airport, the air traffic controllers, and the firefighters, all of whom utilize the communication system.
