Tinker Air Force Base Entry Control Point

Blending Aesthetics with Protective Measures

Garver provided structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil design for a new entrance control point at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma’s largest single-site employer with 27,000 military and civilian employees. To address a need for additional inbound lanes and increase safety measures, one road was realigned, and a new 3,776-square-feet LEED Gold certified pass and identification building was constructed. To compensate for site constraints, Garver developed a unique structural design that augmented and hardened the new building interior so that it complies with Department of Defense Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) requirements for enhanced security.
