Because it recognized the convenience they could provide the public and stakeholders, Garver has developed virtual public meeting techniques and tools that convey critical project information to those who need it most. After much of the industry transitioned to remote work in 2020, Garver launched virtual meetings for 30 projects in less than a year. During that time, almost 15,000 users visited the virtual meeting websites, logging more than 950 hours of web traffic. On the clean, mobile-ready websites, they interacted with live events and video presentations, downloaded digital handouts and pamphlets, resulting in a virtual public attendance that averaged nearly 700 percent more than in-public attendance at comparable events. Thanks to this newfound technology, allowing the public unparalleled access to information, it’s clear that virtual public meetings are here to stay.
Garver has successfully led virtual public meetings for projects with the Texas Department of Transportation; Arkansas Department of Transportation; the Oklahoma Department of Transportation; Pulaski, Saline, and Garland counties in Arkansas; and more.
