WTS Arkansas names Garver Employer of the Year
This week, Garver was named Employer of the Year at the inaugural WTS Arkansas Chapter Gala. With nominations made by WTS Arkansas members, the award recognizes outstanding contributions and support of the advancement of women and minorities in the transportation field.
Garver is proud to be involved in WTS, an international organization dedicated to the advancement of women in the transportation industry, throughout the country because of a shared belief in the WTS mission. Last year, Garver was also named Employer of the Year by the Mississippi and Oklahoma chapters, and by the Heart of Texas chapter in 2021.
Supporting women in transportation is more than just a catchphrase; it’s a value that deserves action. That’s why Garver encourages women to pursue careers in engineering and support them on their journey – through measures like the Transportation Mentoring Program or tuition reimbursement. Through professional development programs and Connect, the firm’s in-house initiative to support and connect employees across the footprint through companywide in-person and virtual events. But Garver also places a high priority on encouraging employee involvement in professional industry organizations at all levels.
Garver has also hosted programs aimed at broadening the talent pipeline and encouraging young women to take an interest in STEM fields. These initiatives have ranged from Garver Launch, the firm’s internship program, to GarverGives, the firm’s corporate giving program, and everything in between.
Garver celebrates the progress women have made at our firm, as well as the progress made across the industry. We’re committed to providing the tools they need for success, and we’re excited to see what that success will bring.
