Wilcox selected to 13th Leadership Arkansas class

Bridge Team Leader Lawren Wilcox will have the opportunity to discuss the economic and political challenges facing Arkansas with a diverse group of business and community leaders after being selected to the latest class of Leadership Arkansas by the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce.

As a part of Leadership Arkansas’s 13th class, Wilcox will take courses over a nine-month period that promote engagement on an array of issues facing the state, including agriculture, education, infrastructure, economic development, industrial development, and regional development with classmates in a variety of fields.

“Our main focus as engineers is to improve the communities in which we live and work,” Wilcox said. “This is just a different way of going about that. I’ve seen first-hand how this program has helped a number of my colleagues, and look forward to engaging with other bright minds in building a better Arkansas.”

With almost three decades of experience as a structural engineer, Wilcox has led the design, design review, and load rating of bridges across the country. In Arkansas, he has assisted Garver in such critical projects as the 30 crossing project in Pulaski County, Arkansas; and I-49 in northwest Arkansas.

Leadership Arkansas was founded more than a decade ago with the intention of developing a diverse network of committed leaders to facilitate an improved Arkansas. Several Garver employees are among its more than 600 graduates, including Director of Transportation Jerry Holder, Corporate Communications Leader Laura Nick, Transportation Team Leader Ron Petrie, and Director of AssetMax Keith Tencleve.
