Three honored with Spirit of Garver Awards
Garver has continually relied on talented technical teams assisted by the most qualified administrative support teams to deliver infrastructure improvements to communities across the country throughout its 100-year history.
To commemorate the talents and efforts of those employees, Garver annually presents the Spirit of Garver Award to the employees who exhibit a passion for their profession and dedication to upholding Garver’s values. Employees are nominated by their colleagues, while finalists and winners are selected by a committee of company leaders. The Spirit of Garver winners are announced at Garver Summit, the company’s annual meeting held this year in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The 2019 winners are Texas Water Infrastructure Design Team Leader Ernie Flores, Wellness Coordinator Whitney Gorsegner, and Senior Transportation Project Manager Aimee Schroller.
From Garver’s Harlingen, Texas office, Flores manages the Texas Water Infrastructure Design Center consisting of a team of designers and CAD technicians supporting various planning groups to provide water infrastructure designs to communities throughout Texas and surrounding areas.
Gorsegner, based in Garver’s North Little Rock, Arkansas office, helps design and execute Garver’s company-wide Wellness Program. Available to all Garver employees, the award-winning program provides health consultations, personal training and nutrition assessments, on-site biometric screenings, and a points program that enables employees to participate in activities focusing on overall-well-being.
Schroller, based in Garver’s San Antonio office, has helped Garver work with the Texas Department of Transportation on a variety of highway improvement projects. She’s currently part of Garver’s design team for the I-35 Northeast Expansion project, which will provide more than 40 miles of elevated highway stretching from downtown San Antonio to the city’s northeast corner.
