Morgan Young Named Garver's New South Carolina Water Team Leader

Building bridges and cultivating connections - Morgan Young is ready to support South Carolina communities

When Garver was looking for a South Carolina Business Team Leader, we knew this person had to be committed to and passionate about the communities they’d be supporting. The person needed to have not only technical skill but also an ability to create relationships and serve as a trusted advisor. So, when Garver met with Morgan Young, we knew we’d found the right person to lead the charge in South Carolina.

Young grew up in the Carolinas and followed in his dad’s footsteps by becoming an engineer. He attended Clemson University and has been planted in Greenville, SC, ever since. He has worked on a wide variety of projects - small and large, simple and complex, and everything in between.

As Garver Water’s East Region Director Brian Shannon puts it, “Morgan is a native Carolinian, bringing a long history of assisting clients with their water needs throughout the Carolinas. He has the necessary experience and commitment to provide successful water solutions to our clients, building our presence in South Carolina and strengthening the one we’ve begun in North Carolina.”

One of Young's first challenging projects was designing a greenfield water treatment plant for a community that had never treated their own water before. That plant is now functional and producing high-quality water. Fun fact: the drinking water from this facility has won “best tasting water” awards. On the wastewater side, Young has helped design, construct, and optimize an advanced biological nutrient removal fermenter, which uses cutting edge technology to reduce and eliminate plant costs while meeting aggressive permit limits.

That’s a small sample of the great work Young has been doing in the Carolinas. And it comes with all the work he’s been doing to build client relationships that are long-lasting and strong.

That long history of assisting Carolinas clients isn’t just business as usual for Young; it’s personal. “Relationships first and business second,” is his motto. “The beauty of South Carolina is that the culture lends itself to this kind of approach. I’ve always felt that getting to know people and developing a relationship with them as a friend is what enables me to work with them successfully. Besides, what’s better than working with your friends?”

What led him to Garver was the firm's unique emphasis on trusting local leaders to drive business decisions. He was intrigued by the combination of small-firm service with the resources of a larger organization. Garver's size and personality resonated with his professional values, making it an ideal fit for the next step in his career.

“Garver is excited to invest in the South Carolina market with Morgan Young at the helm. He and Garver share a combined passion and commitment for long-term relationships, and we invest in the communities in which we live and work,” says Garver Director of Water Services Jeff Sober.

Young brings a unique blend of technical expertise, local knowledge, passion for relationships, and a deep commitment to their success. His career, deeply rooted in the Carolinas, is a testament to the power of genuine connections and client focus. He is a valuable addition to Garver, and we look forward to the positive impact he will undoubtedly make in his new role.
