Garver mourns the passing of Senior Transportation Designer David Yandell
We are saddened by the unexpected passing of David Yandell, a senior transportation designer in our North Little Rock office. David dedicated over 35 years to Garver and will be dearly missed.
David began his career at Garver as a survey party chief and through his consistent performance and dedication became an essential member of our North Little Rock Transportation Team. Throughout his career David worked closely with the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) and was a trusted and valued partner. Over four decades, he contributed to major transportation projects throughout his home state of Arkansas, and the surrounding region, focusing mainly on preparing right-of-way plans and creating descriptions to support right-of-way acquisitions.
David had an Associate of Arts degree in Surveying from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and was a licensed surveyor in Arkansas and Mississippi. In addition to his work at Garver, David was an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and Cabot Panthers. His greatest passions, however, were hunting and family.
“I was blessed to work with David throughout my career at Garver and recognized that he was a master at his profession,” said Garver Director of Field Services Earl Mott. “He was a constant figure at Garver throughout his over 35 years of service. Someone you could count on regardless of the situation. David touched many people throughout the years and will be greatly missed.”
David is survived by his wife, Stacy; an older brother, Tommy; an older sister, Laura (Scott) Patterson; his three sons, Steven (Brittany), Matthew (Melissa), and Nathan (Rebecca); and three grandchildren, Lincoln, Eden, and Mason; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family, friends, and others are invited to the visitation at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 W Main St, Jacksonville, from 6-8 pm on Thursday, November 7, to reminisce and honor the life of David. A funeral service will be held the following day, Friday, November 8, at 10 am at Fellowship Baptist Church, 14717 AR Hwy 5, Cabot, followed by a graveside service at the Sixteenth Section Cemetery.
Stacy is requesting that everyone wear Razorback red and white to the visitation. She also asks that no one wear black to the service on Friday because David did not like black at funerals.
Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this challenging time.
