Garver names Wichita, Kansas office 2020 Office of the Year
For the first time, Garver’s annual Garvy awards, presented at the company’s annual Summit event, included an “Office of the Year” award, given to the firm’s Wichita, Kansas office.
The annual honor is given to one of Garver's 34 offices spread across the country in recognition of their innovative collaboration and positive work culture. The inaugural award was presented virtually by Katie Flannery, known for her role as Meredith in The Office.
Originally Ruggles & Bohm, the team had serviced clients across Kansas for almost 25 years before joining forces with Garver in 2017. The office has since moved to a larger location and grown to 26 employees.
The team of engineers and technicians in Wichita offers a wide range of services – from transportation solutions to construction services – and since 2017, Garver's cross-discipline work in Kansas has included the Kansas Department of Transportation's Eisenhower Legacy Transportation Program (IKE) and the Northwest Water Treatment Facility, along with projects at the Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport.
On top of winning major projects for the firm, the Wichita office exemplified Garver culture from the beginning. The office touts Garver Wellness champions and promotes community involvement with employees involved in numerous local charities and professional societies. The office even brought their Montana Breakfast tradition to Garver, which has quickly been adopted as one of the firm's favorite celebrations.
“It is truly an honor to work with such a talented group of professionals and together we will continue to collaborate to best serve our clients," said Senior Transportation Project Manager Chris Bohm, who has delivered infrastructure improvements from Wichita for more than two decades.
