Winterscheidt named to Oklahoma Magazine 40 Under 40 list

For Michael Winterscheidt, PE, what started as an interest in math and science as a child has evolved into career-building pathways – whether that’s designing bike paths throughout Oklahoma communities or walking alongside young engineers as they lay the groundwork of their own journey in the industry.

As a Garver Transportation Team Leader, Winterscheidt designs the roadways that keep Oklahomans connected and the districts that set Tulsa apart – including Cherry Street and over 20 miles of bike lanes throughout the city.

Winterscheidt’s dedication to the transportation engineering industry and to his community has landed him a spot on Oklahoma Magazine’s 40 Under 40 list. The list honors community leaders across the state from all industries and celebrates their innovation, leadership, and positive impacts on Oklahoma communities.

“I love my job because it allows me to utilize my technical skills while serving the state, I’ve called home for many years. I look forward to continuing to do so in the years to come and am honored to be included among these admirable community leaders,” Winterscheidt said.

Outside the office, Winterscheidt serves as a mentor to young engineers, helping to cultivate the next generation as the industry faces a shortage of engineering graduates, and regularly spends his weekends volunteering for his local Habitat for Humanity to build homes for Oklahomans in need.
