Snyder named to The Journal Record Achievers Under 40 list

Roadway Team Leader Andrew Snyder, PE, has been recognized for making Oklahoma a better place by The Journal Record, which honors Oklahoma’s top young professionals each year by naming them to the Achievers Under 40 list.

Snyder began his career at Garver as an intern, in 2009, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He moved to the Tulsa office in 2010 and has been dedicated to improving Oklahoma transportation systems and serving Oklahomans ever since.

He has led significant Oklahoma transportation projects, including the Turner Turnpike improvements west of Tulsa, the I-44 improvements at 145th and 165th East Avenue, and the US-64 (Memorial Dr./US-169 Creek Turnpike) Diverging Diamond Interchange project, which was recently named a finalist for this year’s Journal Record Top Project awards. Each of these projects reduced traffic congestion and increased safety for Oklahomans and those traveling through the state.

A devoted mentor, Snyder regularly shares his expertise with elementary students as well as college graduates. He helped start Garver Launch, the firm’s internship program, which has grown from three students in the Tulsa office to nearly 450 in offices across the country. This growth couldn’t have happened without Snyder’s dedication to providing interns with a valuable experience that successfully prepares them to enter the industry.

Young professionals in Garver’s Tulsa office also benefit, as Snyder makes time to mentor them as well. He acts as a resource for learning the ropes and building strong careers. He also makes time outside of the office to volunteer for a variety of community organizations. For example, he volunteers as a math mentor for 3rd grade students for the Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance and regularly helps assemble STEM kits for regional elementary schools.

Garver recognized Snyder’s dedication to his work, to the firm, and to the next generation of engineers in 2017 with a Spirit of Garver award, the firm’s highest employee honor. He has also been honored as a part of Oklahoma Magazine’s 40 Under 40 list.
