ABC Arkansas honors two Garver projects

Two Garver-designed projects that help promote continued growth in Northwest Arkansas were honored recently by the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc., Arkansas Chapter.

Dean’s Trail in Springdale and the Rupple Road Widening and Relocation in Fayetteville projects have each been honored with ABC 2020 Excellence in Construction for Infrastructure awards. The projects were set to be recognized at a banquet this month before it being postponed to a later date.

“Garver has been working in Northwest Arkansas for a long time, and it’s always great to see how new projects impact the community in different ways,” said Transportation Project Manager Jeff Webb, who helped deliver both projects. “By improving safety and efficiency of one busy road and enhancing alternative transportation infrastructure, these projects make Northwest Arkansas a better place to live, and that’s always our goal.”

Rupple Road Widening and Relocation project in Fayetteville, Arkansas

To widen and relocate Rupple Road, Garver provided environmental, surveying, design, and construction support services that led to a more accessible, efficient, and safe route connecting two growing residential areas. The new four-lane parkway with an adjoining multi-use trail includes a new four-lane bridge over Hamestring Creek. Garver also performed a traffic study to determine efficient turn lanes at the intersection of Rupple Road and Mt. Comfort Road, also a four-lane road.

Dean's Trail in Springdale, Arkansas

Dean’s Trail is the latest Garver contribution to the trails in Northwest Arkansas. Garver first performed a study to recommend new alignment for Dean’s Trail and, when a 2.4-mile long stretch was selected, provided design, surveying, environmental, bidding and construction support services.
