There’s a new generation of engineers rising at Garver. Wichita-based Project Engineer Jennifer Salvo has been named the Wichita Society of Professional Engineers (WSPE) Intern Engineer of the Year.
As a project engineer for Garver, she’s worked on a range of projects that are providing safe, healthy water for residents of Wichita. These range from a 78-inch sewer reroute that is relocating Wichita’s largest sanitary sewer interceptor from under I-135 in south Wichita to assisting the City of Wichita with staffing analysis for the Water Production Division.
“I’ve always been passionate about environmental stewardship and my work at Garver allows me to make that passion a career," Salvo said. “I’m honored to receive this award, especially knowing that it comes from a group of industry professionals who share my goal of making Kansas a better place to live and work."

In addition to her work assisting in water, stormwater, and sanitary sewer engineering designs and feasibility studies for municipal clients, Salvo has also played a significant role in GarverGives.
As a member of the GarverGives Committee, she volunteers and helps facilitate other volunteers and donation opportunities in the Wichita area. Examples include work with Project Lead the Way, ICT SOS, Girls on the Run, Family Promise, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Habitat for Humanity, and more.
“Even at the beginning of her career, Jennifer has already made a profound difference in her community,” said Garver Kansas Water Team Leader Mark Dolechek, PE. “Her belief that clean water is a basic human right – and her passion for those sustainable engineering solutions that provide that critical resource – is evident in everything that she’s done for Garver.”
