Garver reaches highest point in ENR regional rankings

Since its founding nearly a century ago, Garver has focused on providing innovative solutions to large problems in new and exciting markets. That philosophy has led Garver to grow to what it is today, with over 500 employees servicing clients from 25 offices in 11 states.

Such growth has led to Garver’s highest ranking in Engineering News-Record’s list of Top Design Firms in its Texas & Louisiana region. Garver came in at No. 23 in the ranking, up from No. 27 last year and an improvement of 40 spots over the last two years in a ranking that compiles design revenue accumulated in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas.

“We’re growing, and we’re serving more clients than we ever have, and that’s a product of us making smart decisions with how we expand and the projects we pursue,” Garver President and CEO Dan Williams said. “That won’t ever change as we continue to employ the best people who provide even more communities with innovative problem-solving.”

In 2017, Garver opened new offices in Athens, Harlingen, and San Antonio Texas, and now more than 400 of Garver's employees are spread between 15 offices servicing aviation, transportation, and water clients in the five-state footprint.

Garver contributed to several significant projects across the region in 2017. In Arkansas, Garver is providing program management for the Connecting Arkansas Program, a 10-year program financed by a voter-approved sales tax that includes 36 highway improvement projects across the state. In Oklahoma, Garver is providing design services for the Gilcrease Expressway, which provides an interstate loop around Tulsa, Oklahoma; and program management and lead design for the Kaw Lake Water Supply Program, which will provide the City of Enid with a sustainable water supply. In Texas, a Master Plan and modeling project at the Trinity River Authority of Texas’ Central Regional Wastewater System was the most thorough evaluation conducted at one of the state’s largest treatment facilities.

Garver was also named a “Best Firm to Work For” in the multi-discipline category by the Zweig Group, a list on which it has been named five consecutive years. Garver also continued to uplift communities in these regions through GarverGives, its corporate giving arm, by contributing to a new children’s hospital in Springdale, Arkansas; an organization that provides developmentally disabled life skills near Tulsa; as well as STEM programs at several school districts.
