Ignite kicks off Garver Launch experience
Garver has always relied upon the most well-trained and qualified staff to provide innovative infrastructure solutions, and the development of that staff begins long before they become licensed engineers. For decades, Garver has cultivated young engineers through a detailed internship program, and three years ago that effort was enhanced by the formation of Garver Launch, which provides a comprehensive internship experience focused on on-the-job training.
The Garver Launch experience kicks off each year at Ignite, a two-day event that introduces the latest class of interns to company leadership, history, and signature projects, while they bond over competitive team-building activities.
“We created Garver Launch so that our interns can experience the best and most rewarding introduction to the profession as possible,” said Transportation Project Manager Andrew Snyder, who leads the Garver Launch Committee. “Between the networking opportunities and professional development offered during Ignite, and the technical training provided by mentors throughout the rest of the internship, we know that our interns are prepared to be instant contributors to the profession by the time they are ready to join us full-time.”
This year’s event was held at Garver’s Frisco, Texas office, where interns listened to Garver leadership representing a variety of service lines pass along technical expertise and lessons on professional development. They also bonded over bowling and arcade games, and toured the Garver-designed Dallas Love Field Taxiway Bravo Rehabilitation site.
