ACEC-Oklahoma elects Schniers to Board of Directors
For decades, the American Council of Engineering Companies of Oklahoma has helped advance consulting engineering firms in the state by organizing professional development opportunities, educational seminars, public relations campaigns, and meetings for the best business, economic, and politic environments for in-state firms to operate.
Garver Vice President and Transportation Team Leader Brent Schniers, based in Garver’s Tulsa office, will now help lead the organization, after he was recently elected to ACEC Oklahoma’s Board of Directors. Schniers will serve as the chapter’s national director, and the three-year term began this summer. After a month in this position, Schniers attended a special board meeting held in Washington, D.C. to confirm the nomination of Linda Bauer Darr as the ACEC’s new president/CEO.
“The ACEC has been one of the most influential organizations to our industry, and it is an honor to serve its progress in Oklahoma,” Schniers said. “While serving on the board, ACEC Oklahoma will continue focusing on the advancement of our profession and our people through its various programs.”
Helping Garver improve the transportation landscape in Oklahoma for more than a decade, Schniers has also previously served as ACEC Oklahoma’s vice chair of education/public relations. In that time, Garver’s Transportation Team has helped deliver such improvement projects in Oklahoma as the I-244 multimodal bridges over the Arkansas River in Tulsa; the Cottonwood Creek bridge in Creek County; and the ongoing Gilcrease Expressway in Tulsa.
