ABC Arkansas again recognizes two Garver projects
The Arkansas Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. recently named Garver as the recipient for two Excellence in Construction for Infrastructure awards.
The prize-winning projects, both of which are located in fast-growing Northwest Arkansas, were the South Dixieland Road Extension in Lowell and the Taxiway B Reconstruction Project at Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA).
XNA’s Taxiway B Reconstruction Project is among the latest projects that Garver has undertaken at the airport. In providing services to address pavement distress for the Taxiway B Reconstruction Project, involving reconstruction of the taxiway from the Runway 16 end to the Terminal Apron, Garver played a crucial role in advancing the airport’s long-term development plans.
“We’ve been working with XNA for a long time, and we’ve been proud to play a role in helping to improve their infrastructure,” said Senior Project Manager Adam White, PE. “This taxiway reconstruction will provide quality infrastructure to support the Airport’s future growth.”
Located a half mile east of I-49, Lowell's South Dixieland Road Extension was designed to alleviate the burden placed on the increasingly busy interstate. In order to accomplish this, Garver provided environmental, design, and construction engineering and inspection services, including a new 1,200-foot gravity sewer, coordination with necessary agencies, and environmental specialist field studies along the north-south corridor.
“As Northwest Arkansas continues its unprecedented growth, Garver is proud to provide the necessary infrastructure improvements to make it possible for that growth to continue uninterrupted,” said Transportation Project Manager Jeff Webb, PE. “Both the South Dixieland Road Extension and the XNA Taxiway B Reconstruction projects will play a significant role in supporting the growing region in the years to come.”
