Matt Jacobs joins Garver as Aviation Leader in Kansas City
Garver is excited to welcome Matt Jacobs, PE, to the Aviation Team as Aviation Leader.
With nearly 30 years of airport engineering experience, Jacobs has built a career serving airports of all sizes, from general aviation facilities to regional and commercial service airports. His background spans engineering design, construction management, project management, client relations, and team leadership, bringing a depth of experience that will support Garver's continued growth throughout Kansas, Missouri, and the surrounding region.
In his new role, Jacobs will help lead operations from Garver’s Overland Park office while focusing on business development and client management across the region. His experience working closely with airport sponsors, communities, and industry partners positions him to strengthen relationships and support aviation clients as they plan for future growth.
"Throughout my career, I've enjoyed working with the communities that depend on their airports and helping them navigate the challenges and opportunities that come with growth and infrastructure investment," Jacobs said. "What attracted me to Garver was its commitment to regional and general aviation airports, along with the strength and experience of the Aviation Team. I saw an opportunity to continue serving clients at a high level while learning from and collaborating with some of the best aviation professionals in the industry."
Raised in a small agricultural community in south central Kansas, Jacobs developed an appreciation for the unique needs of rural communities and the critical role airports play in supporting economic development, business growth, and connectivity. He is particularly passionate about helping airport sponsors develop long-term capital improvement plans, identifying funding opportunities, and preparing for future growth and infrastructure needs.
In addition to his professional experience, Jacobs is actively involved in the Kansas Association of Airports (KAA), where he has served in leadership and committee roles focused on conference planning, membership growth, and scholarships that support the next generation of aviation professionals.
"Matt's reputation for building strong client relationships, leading successful airport projects, and supporting the aviation industry makes him an outstanding addition to our team," said Aviation Region Leader Colin Bible, PE. “His extensive experience across Kansas and Missouri, combined with his passion for serving airport communities, will help us continue delivering exceptional service and creating long-term value for our clients."
Jacobs earned his civil engineering degree from Kansas State University and began his aviation career through a cooperative education opportunity that introduced him to airport engineering. What started as a college internship evolved into nearly three decades of helping airports improve safety, operations, and long-term planning.
At Garver, Jacobs looks forward to building on that experience while partnering with clients and colleagues to advance aviation infrastructure throughout Kansas, Missouri, and beyond.
