Garver aids Gold4Kids event in Tulsa
Garver and Gold4Kids Cancer Foundation of Tulsa have created a partnership over the last four years that has led to aid for the organization that helps fight childhood cancer, the most recent being the Gold4Kids Walk and Run.
Several employees in Garver’s Tulsa, Oklahoma office helped plan and promote the annual race that this year attracted thousands of participants and raised more than $85,000. GarverGives contributed $2,500 for the event, and has contributed more than $10,000 through various events over the last four years.
“Gold4Kids is an invaluable asset to our community, and helping support their mission in whatever way we can is always one of our most rewarding events of the year,” said Garver Transportation Project Manager Matthew Youngblood, who also serves on the Gold4Kids board of directors.
In addition to assisting with the planning and promotion of the event, Garver employees served as volunteers on race day and some even competed in the race. Past Garver involvement has included blood drives at the company’s Tulsa office that resulted in more than 50 donations, along with silent auctions and other events for further contributions.
Gold4Kids is dedicated to helping children and their families fight cancer by raising funds for research programs and working closely with the St. Francis Children’s Oncology Clinic.
