Garver Chain Reaction Challenge winners announced

To help celebrate a century of doing business and inspire the type of creativity and critical thinking shown by founder Neal Garver in 1919, Garver provided 100 STEM kits and monetary donations to 100 schools across its 11-state footprint this year.

The students were encouraged to use the STEM kits to participate in the Garver Chain Reaction Challenge by building Rube Goldberg-style chain-reaction contraptions, and send a video of their final creations to be judged by Garver engineers.

Today, Garver announced nine Chain Reaction Challenge winners, all of whom will receive additional funding for their school’s STEM programs.

“The creativity and ingenuity that we saw was incredible, and it was hard for our judges to narrow it down,” said Garver Chief Operating Officer Michael Graves. “Our hope was to inspire students to explore engineering as a career, but what we didn’t anticipate was how much they would inspire us.”
