Garver welcomes Ray Powell as Tulsa Buildings Team Leader
Ray Powell, PE, has joined Garver as Buildings Team Leader based in our Tulsa office. Powell brings a decade of experience designing and coordinating mechanical systems, and will lead Garver’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing efforts across the Tulsa metropolitan area.
Powell, a Tulsa-native, enjoys leveraging a deep understanding of building information modeling (BIM) across civic, educational, and hospitality developments to find practical solutions to complex problems and deliver coordinated, code-compliant design. In his role at Garver, Powell will provide project support and actively develop new relationships in Tulsa's building sectors.
“Ray’s grasp of advanced engineering design tools and his passion for authentic connections are ushering the MEP Team into an inspiring phase of growth,” said MEPF Practice Leader Zac Buckmiller. “He understands the unique needs of the buildings in our region and the goals Garver has for this team. I’m excited to watch him take our people and projects to the next level.”
Powell has been a part of Tulsa’s building and architecture environment since 2014, serving as an intern, and later employee, at major firms in the area. This exposure to Tulsa’s building sectors has allowed him to discover his passion for building systems and hone his skills within the industry. For Powell, the move to Garver is one with his family and community in mind.
“From day one, I’ve been surrounded by opportunity at Garver,” said Powell. “I feel encouraged to apply the technical support and resources available to my team and further inroads with public municipalities, governments, and organizations — while pursuing new ones of my own.”
Powell currently holds Professional Engineer licenses in Oklahoma and Arkansas; bachelor’s degrees in architectural engineering and civil engineering from Drexel University; as well as a master’s degree in architectural urban studies and graduate certificate in Design Entrepreneurship and Real Estate from the University of Oklahoma.
