Garver recognized as a Certified Healthy Oklahoma business

Garver offices in Norman, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa, Oklahoma recently received a Certified Healthy Oklahoma Business award. The certification showcases businesses, campuses, communities, congregations, early childhood programs, restaurants, and schools that promote health and wellness for their employees.

Certified Healthy entities are working to improve the health of Oklahomans by implementing policies and programs that will help Oklahomans eat better, move more, and be tobacco free. By awarding Garver’s Oklahoma offices with the Excellence award, its top certification, the Certified Healthy Business award recognizes that Garver’s Oklahoma offices are doing a stellar job of providing a healthy environment for employees, and thereby supporting better choices and an overall healthier Oklahoma.

Garver’s comprehensive Wellness Program is powered by coordination through all levels of the company. Employees throughout Garver’s 13-state footprint enjoy the benefits of an in-house Wellness Team available for health consultations, personal training and nutrition assessments, and on-site biometric screenings. Free on-site exercise facilities, gym-fee reimbursement, and bike parking and lockers, are also available in many offices.

An entity that meets most or all the Certified Healthy criteria demonstrates that it not only implements health-focused policies, but also provides an established environment to foster behavior modification. In other words, Certified Healthy entities like Garver help employees improve their lifestyle to decrease their risk for chronic disease.

The application process included a wellness scorecard in which Garver earned points based on its wellness initiatives.
