XNA reconstruction named Grand Conceptor by ACEC of Arkansas
The Garver-led Taxiway B Reconstruction Project at Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) has been named the top engineering project in the state by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Arkansas. Also known as the Grand Conceptor Award, the honor was announced this past week at the ACEC’s Engineering Excellence Awards Gala, which was hosted at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion in Little Rock.
The taxiway reconstruction project, which also won the Transportation category, addressed pavement distress at the growing airport and provided a strong foundation for the airport’s long-term development plans. This marks the sixth time that a Garver project has earned this recognition, with the most recent award-winner being the Cantrell Field Access project in 2020.
“I’m honored that the ACEC has named this project as Grand Conceptor,” said Garver Aviation Operations Manager Adam White, PE. “This project provides sound infrastructure at XNA, providing the groundwork for development across the region. This recognition further solidifies the cornerstone role that improved infrastructure will play in the years to come.”
Garver also won the Building/Technology Systems category for its work on the automated weather observing system (AWOS) at the North Little Rock Municipal Airport. Thanks to this project, the airport is now able to provide continual weather information to pilots, thereby enhancing safety for both pilots and the public.
Garver also took home Honor Awards for the ABP Development Program at the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, and the Fayetteville Water Quality Report conducted for the City of Fayetteville.
