Dickey named to Arkansas Business 20 in Their Twenties

Arkansas Business announced that Garver Water Process Engineer Kristen Dickey, EI, has been recognized as one of the publication’s 20 in Their Twenties honorees. In being named to this year’s class, Dickey joins her peers from across the state who are considered to be rising stars in their respective industries.

Growing up in Central Arkansas, Dickey spent her childhood on lakes and rivers, kayaking and boating with her family. Thanks in part to those experiences, she understood early on the vital role clean water plays in the health of ecosystems and communities — and she’s carried that passion into her career.

As a water process engineer, Dickey has played a crucial role in major water infrastructure projects throughout the state, including the wastewater infrastructure master plans for Springdale and Fayetteville and the engineering design for Northwest Arkansas Conservation Authority’s Wastewater Treatment Plant.

While Dickey’s work as a water engineer is already making waves across Arkansas, her commitment to her home state goes beyond water systems and engineering designs. A leader in GarverGives, the firm’s corporate giving program, Dickey spearheads volunteer opportunities within the Northwest Arkansas area, including volunteering at the Ozark Natural Science Center and working with the Miracle League to put on baseball games for children with disabilities.

“Though early in her career, Kristen has made a significant impact on her home state of Arkansas through both her work as a water engineer and her dedication to community service,” said Garver’s Process Team Leader Kamyar Sardari, Ph.D., PE. “She embodies what it means to give back to the place you call home, and Arkansas is all the better for it.”

Dickey is not only looking ahead to the future of Arkansas water systems but to the future of the water engineering industry as a whole. As a member of the Arkansas Water Young Professionals group, she volunteers at water conferences across the state and participates in organization events. Dickey is also passionate about helping cultivate the next generation of engineers and serves on the Garver Launch Steering Committee, which works to ensure a positive intern experience for Garver’s 100-plus interns.
