Zimmerman and Rutabana selected for 2023 ACEC Texas Leadership Academy
Texas Construction Services Director of Operations Dakota Zimmerman, PE, and Aviation Project Manager Ken Rutabana, PE, were selected to be part of the 2023 ACEC Texas Leadership Academy. They join a cohort of 35 of their peers who will develop leadership skills, learn from prominent industry leaders, and have the opportunity to grow their networks across the Lone Star State.
Zimmerman, based in Frisco, has provided construction engineering and inspection services on infrastructure projects for communities across the United States, working alongside Departments of Transportation, airports, municipalities, water and wastewater utilities, and more. He has acted as the project manager for over $1 billion of construction work. In his six years at Garver, Zimmerman has quickly risen in the ranks to lead Garver’s Construction Services efforts in Texas, partnering with the Texas Department of Transportation on projects totaling over $100 million in construction costs.
“I look at this as another opportunity to serve the state I call home and connect with other engineers,” said Zimmerman. “I appreciate Garver’s investment in me and thank ACEC Texas for providing me with the chance to learn, grow, and become an even better leader, engineer, and community member.”

As a project manager on Garver’s Aviation Team, Rutabana, based in Houston, works with airports across Texas on their critical infrastructure improvements. While coordinating design teams, sub-consultants, and contractors, he’s worked with some of the fastest-growing airports in the state, like George Bush Intercontinental, Dallas Fort Worth International, Austin-Bergstrom International, and more.
“Being involved in this program ... it’s a chance to gain an even deeper understanding of what Texans need to continue the state’s positive momentum.”
